WV Camping Engagement Session | WV Photographer

Maggie and Mike are getting married and I couldn't be happier to be a part of their day. They are a laid back couple, plus their dog Grace could be a Hollywood star.

So when they decided to include their love of camping and hiking in their engagement session I was happy to tag along and document it! They taught me quite a bit about being outdoorsy and I liked it- I think I could give camping a try (in the backyard to start). The trail they often hiked was beautiful and opened up to a perfectly lit stream. I really enjoyed watching the two of them work together and make setting up a campsite look easy as pie.

Rachel + Billy | Pittsburgh Engagement

We had the pleasure of meeting Rachel and Billy last weekend for their 'burgh engagement session. The West End Elliot Overlook had a gorgeous view of the city and a lush arbored tunnel. It just so happened as I posed them at the top of the overlook a band started to play one their wedding songs. I'd love to tell you I am that good of a planner, but no- fait it is.

Engagement sessions are one of my favorite parts of photographing weddings. It gives everyone a change to get to know each other and feel much more comfortable before the big day. We can't wait to capture Rachel and Billys upcoming wedding!

Rachel + Zack | WV Wedding | WVU Erickson Alumni Center

Rachel and Zack met 11 years ago on the Morgantown Rail Trail and have been running together ever since.

They met the summer before their freshman year of high school. They quickly became running buddies on the rail trail and the time passed quickly as they chatted about families, summer vacations, high school and many other topics. The one topic they forgot to cover was the introduction of names…

Rachel recalls that awkward moment when you have been running and chatting with the same person for three weeks, but never got his name. Eventually they formally introduced themselves and become great friends all through high school. It wasn’t until college that the best friends decided to start dating.

Zack and Rachel enjoy running together, eating out and watching tons of movies. Rachel states that their favorite date is the cliche “dinner and a movie”. Rachel loves sharing the details of her day with Zack, over a meal not prepared by either of them, and then of course dessert is a must!

The happy couple will be married on April 30, 2016 at the WVU Erickson Alumni Center. The best friends are extremely excited to share their I do’s and begin their lives together. After the wedding, the couple will be moving to Tysons Corner, V.A.

So where does the happy couple see themselves in 10 years time?

“Zack and I have started this tradition where we collect lapel pins everywhere we travel. So far we have a good chunk, but in 10 years I’d like to see that chunk of traveling pins get much bigger! I’m hoping we still find our careers make us as happy then as they do now. I hope to have a position as an audiologist at an established office (not sure which yet, I don’t graduate till May 2017). Zack currently works as a product manager at a tech company in Tysons Corner, VA. In 10 years, I hope he’s still working on exciting projects and loving his job.”
